Meet the partners

Bruce Hurst, CGA, CFP - Partner

Bruce has served as a Certified General Accountant (CGA) since 1983, obtained his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation in 1999, is a graduate of the Canadian Credit Institute and has completed a CGA in-depth tax program.

With his extensive experience in managing and directing many of RHNINC's accounting and tax advisory functions, Bruce has served on a number of committees for CGA B.C. He is currently on the CGA-BC board of governors, CGA-BC appointed representative of the the technical advisory group and the aboriginal financial officers association of BC. He also played a lead role in the development of a comprehensive audit program for First Nations and served as a representative on the Technical Advisory Group on First Nations Financial Reporting.

Outside the office, Bruce has been an active volunteer for the First Aid Ski Patrol for over 25 years and was recently presented with the Howard Clarke Award from CGA B.C. for his continued volunteer efforts and contributions to the community.


John Nagy, FCGA - Partner

John's primary focus at RHN is owner-operated businesses and non-profit organizations. His expertise in these areas is highly regarded in the financial industry, as he has served as President of CGA-BC and Chairman of CGA Canada. He has also served on the CGA Canada Professional Affairs, Public Practice and Education Committees.

John is currently the chair of CGA Canada’s International Qualifications Assessment Panel, and has also sits on the Canadian Accounting Standards Oversight Council.

John is committed to using his skills and expertise to assist clients and his community. He has served as an auditor for Lions Club Seniors homes, coached with Richmond Girls Softball Association for a number of years and has volunteered with Scouts Canada at the local and district level.



Alvin Singh, CGA - Partner

Alvin joined Reid Hurst Nagy Inc. in 1998, received his CGA designation in 2006 and became a partner with Reid Hurst Nagy Inc. in 2008.

He values the many one-to-one interactions he has with clients as it provides him an opportunity to effectively assess and deliver results to meet each of their individual needs. Alvin has managed many First Nation and First Nations entities’ engagements and has over 10 years experience working with not-for-profit organizations, First Nations and schools.



Leo Van Wensem, CGA - Partner

Leo often finds fulfillment in sharing his knowledge and insights with clients and staff. His responsibilities, as a manager of client services, include managing the conduct of engagements and ensuring each file is prepared in accordance with the high professional standards upheld at RHN He especially enjoys mentoring staff members and undertaking the implementation of new and revised accounting and audit standards.



Terri Bains, CGA - Partner

Terri has worked at RHN since 1995. She attributes her long stay at the firm simply to the high caliber of staff and clients she interacts with everyday. Terri manages a department that performs over 200 strata audits annually as well as audits for not-for-profit organizations.
